Today I recieved my copy of Shimizu Shotas new album WHITE. I am a huge fan of him so this will be quite bias but I will write down my honest opinion about the songs.
01. dance with me. ♥♥♥♡♡
This song has SO much potential, if just his voice wouldn't sound so extremly mechanical. I disliked this so much when listening to the song the first time. After a few more listens I don't mind it that much anymore but really WHY...!!! Besides his mechanical voice, this song is pretty cool. I love the kinde dark feeling and the heavy deep vibrating bass sound. I think this song will grow on me the more I listen to it.
02. Good Life ♥♥♥♥♥
I love this song so much since it was released as a single. It's a song that get's me in a good mood, even thought it's not one of these happy go lucky songs. I like his rap in this song a lot, thought his voice is much more lovable. The whole song has a very nice flow to it.
03. Friday ♥♥♥♥♥
This is the other song that has been released as a single before. I love this song SO much too and I love to singe the refrain. Such an amazing song that really get's me in weekend mood. XD
04. (I'm fine) ♥♥♥♥♥
OMG that rap in the beginning is so nice, in generell his voice is so nice. I also like the snipping and clapping he put into this song. That gives it even more of a nice feeling.
05. Silver & Gold ♥♥♥♥♡
This song again has a nice flow to it. However it's a pretty slow-paced song and therefor can get boring easily. Thought for me, gosh damn it, just his stunning vocals would make me repeat this song for hours and not get bored of it. XDDDD
06. 踊り続けよう (Odori Tsuzukeyou) ♥♥♥♥♥+
I would say this is my favorite song of this album because I loved it right from listening to it only once. The song starts off with a deep vibrating bass sound (similar to "dance with me.") which already gave me goosebumps right from the start. I also love all the sounds he put into it. The whole feeling and flow of this songs get me to dance along. Honestly I LOVE this song SO much.
07. Range Rover ♥♥♥♥♡
This song is super beautiful and could definitly have been longer then these not even two minutes. The "Range Rover" part is a little weird thought, because it makes you feel you listen to a well done advertising song. XD
08. Beautiful ♥♥♥♥♥
Like the titel says this is also a beautiful song and I bet it has beautiful lyrics too. This song has a quite light-hearted feeling to it and his voice sounds crystal clear. I love it. I absolutly appreciate whenever he writes such nice light songs like this one.
09. alone ♥♥♥♥♡
This song really grew on me. The flow always get's me. Also the rap parts of both Shimizu Shota and SALU are very nice listening to.
10. Rainbow ♥♥♥♥♥+
Sadly this is already the last song on this album but it's an amzing last one because it leaves you with this feeling of wanting to listen to all these great songs, and his amazing voice, once again. This song is extremly beautiful, I prefer it over Beautifu because the flow of this is a little nicer and his vocals are so perfect in this. My heart is beating so fast listening to this 'cause I am falling I love with his voice again and again. This guy get's me melting!! XD
Overall: ♥♥♥♥♥+
My overall opinion on this album should be really clear. Like I said I am biased but he really is a stunning artist that wrote the music and lyrics to all of these songs on his own, he arranged them all by himself and half of the songs have even been recorded by himself. Shimizu Shota is not only an extremly talanted vocalist but musician overall. If I had to choose one artist I would like to meet once, it would definitly be him. I am drifting away... So for the album why I love it soooooooo much is this great flow that you will find in all songs from the first to the last. Non of these songs feel like they don't belong there, he seems to really have thought about the order of the tracks. There is some faster songs and slow songs and many mid-tempo songs, it really is a great mix. If you like his music, you will love this and if you don't please give it a try. He deserves so much more attention.
Did you listen to this album?
